Saltgrass Steak House offers a variety of sumptuous steaks and cuisine, and for those with gluten sensitivities, they also provide a comprehensive saltgrass gluten free menu.1

With careful investigation, there are 24 items ranked by real reviews that cater to the gluten conscious and satisfy any steak lovers palate.

Does Saltgrass Have a GF Menu? Where Can I Find a Saltgrass Gluten Free Menu?

Saltgrass steakhouse does not provide specifics about what items are gluten free on their online menu and the menu varies from location and state.

However many of their staples are generally gluten free—this was verified by calling a few locations to ascertain this information and establish the protocols for serving gluten-free meals but since each location varies, a phone call visiting is due. Each location has a gluten free menu that is provided upon request.

The menu items in this selection are marked as gluten-sensitive, and gluten is typically not present in the ingredients or the sauces and marinades.

Gluten is the protein found in grains such as wheat, barley, and rye.2 It may not necessarily be present in the meat of steaks but in the sauces or marinade, as well as sides that come with the meals at Saltgrass steak house. The gluten-free menu at Saltgrass states that the BBQ sauce is gluten sensitive, but the house grilling marinade is not.

Are All Saltgrass’ Steaks Gluten Friendly?

The steak, which is beef from cows, is typically naturally gluten free.3 However, Saltgrass streaks are not gluten friendly—the chain does not try to market its menu to its keto conscious due to the preparation and marinade that go into them. Upon reaching out to them, it was established that communication is required to inform them of the diner’s gluten free requirements.

Upon receipt of this, Saltgrass will provide gluten-sensitive rather than gluten free steaks. The good news is that there are Saltgrass steaks that can typically be made gluten-free. The request must be made beforehand, and the staff will take out any sauces and marinades that can render the meal non-gluten free.

They include gulf coast steak & shrimp, Pat’s ribeye, and New York strip; these tasty delightful steaks are packed with high quality protein too.

Does Saltgrass Have Gluten Free Bread?

Saltgrass does have gluten free bread at certain locations although bread is typically made from wheat flour that contain gluten.5 However, there must be a request to obtain gluten bread—this is also used to make the buns for the burgers. The good news is that the staff and management are always helpful and, in some cases, knowledgeable about the needs of those restricted to a gluten free diet.

Locations such as San Antonio and Waco in Texas and Orlando, Florida locations all reported that they do have bread that is typically gluten sensitive. Due to increased levels of gluten sensitivity in the population, gluten free bread typically prepared from legumes such as rice flour, corn starch, and tapioca starch is finding its way into the nutrition of many.7

While some menus vary from location to location, the consensus is that all locations are flexible in providing steaks and some menu items that are typically gluten free.
