Affirmations are positive statements that can help switch a person’s mindset from a negative place to a positive one — any person can try using positive affirmations for dream body potential to motivate them to lose weight, get healthy, and exercise. If you find that you are having trouble with motivation, stress, fatigue, confidence, and self-worth, using affirmations every day can help increase your outlook and they made all the difference in my weight loss journey too.

There are plenty of people throughout the world who use positive affirmations to help with their morale, self-confidence, concentration, motivation, and other aspects of their personality. Let’s see why using affirmations can help anyone — and everyone — feel good about themselves and get the body of their dreams.

I Used Affirmations to Manifest My Dream Body & You Can Too

An affirmation is a positive mantra that helps an individual restore their self-confidence, competence, and individuality by boosting their feelings of self-worth and morale. These affirmations help a person reflect on what is important in life, helping the individual understand a broader scope of who they are and what they want to achieve — thereby, helping them see the roadblocks that could be in the way of them reaching their dream body.

By increasing their overall awareness and their sense of self, affirmations can help a person with their introspection.1

So, are you wondering how I manifested my dream body?

I have used affirmations for dream body imagery to help change my mindset, look toward my future, gather more insight into my life, and reach my goal — achieving my dream body.

And science actually works. People use positive affirmations for health and body all the time.

Studies have shown that using positive affirmations can help broaden a person’s scope of their sense of self, reducing the negative emotions that can be attributed to one aspect of their ego.2

For example, if a person cannot lose weight, they may feel like it is the end of the world. However, understanding all of the aspects that make up a person’s self-worth can help them react to this negative thought more positively.

Using affirmations can be the little bit of motivation you need to push yourself to achieve your dream body. Positive affirmations increase the brain’s activity in the neural cortex, which is directly influential in setting future goals, imagining positive events, and increasing self-affirmation frequency.3

I used affirmations for manifesting my dream body — and you can too if you follow these three steps.

Affirmations are directly correlated with positive future experiences when compared to imagining a future with a negative mindset.6 Using self-love and appreciation affirmations can help you feel good about yourself. Positive affirmations can help increase a person’s self-worth, independent of successes or “victories”.7

Affirmations can change your mind and body — really! I used daily mantras and visualization techniques to affirm my body and achieve my goals. Check out some of these useful affirmations that can help you feel positive about your body, promoting body confidence and self-love:

  • I am confident
  • I am not deterred by the judgment of other people
  • I am learning tools to become the ideal version of myself
  • I can take the time to give myself a chance to heal

Visualization Affirmations to Manifest Your Dream Body

Visualizing your end goal can help you see where you want to be in the future. “Seeing” how you want to act, what you want to look like, and where you want to be in life can help you decrease stress and lower anxiety.

It has been proven that those with a positive view of themselves benefit from decreased stress and improved well-being.8 Furthermore, using positive visualization tools can help your well-being by focusing on the potential for positive events and outcomes in the future.9

It doesn’t matter if you have an hourglass body or a square shape — you can use these visualization affirmations to manifest your dream body and feel more confident about your genetic body type.

Some examples of visualization affirmations to manifest your dream body are:

  • I see my friends in my life
  • I give myself the approval I need to make a change in my life
  • I am a priority

Goal Oriented Affirmations to Manifest & Achieve a Slim Body

Visualizing what you want to look like can also help you set both short and long-term goals for your future.

Setting short and long-term goals can help a person understand that their life can be changed. For example, if a person wants to lose weight, they can set short-term goals of making smart food decisions and long-term goals of losing “x” pounds of weight per month.

Goal setting is important in figuring out where you want to be in life — setting both short-term and long-term goals is essential to creating a plan to reach this end point. Using positive affirmations can help a person set future goals by learning from past experiences.10

Some examples of goal-oriented affirmations to get your dream body that can help you identify your short and long-term goals, like losing 5 pounds per week or achieving “x” goal weight, are:

  • I will take small steps toward reaching my goal
  • I will avoid the doubt and fear that prevents me from taking steps toward my goals
  • I visualize myself achieving my goals
  • I see the obstacles in front of me and I go around them
  • I will turn my future dreams into realistic goals
  • I will take action to reach my long-term goals
  • I will face my fears
  • I will learn lessons along the way

Body Positivity Affirmations for Health & Change of Mindset

Body positive affirmations are helpful to make a person feel good about themselves, whether they are successfully reaching their goal or they need more motivation in the process. After all, affirmations have been shown to help individuals gain the necessary motivation to leave a sedentary lifestyle and improve activity level in daily life.11

You too can manifest weight loss by using body positive affirmations during your weight loss journey to achieve your goals. Remaining positive and mentally kind to yourself during this process is key to feeling good about yourself and remaining motivated.

How To Start Using Affirmations for Dream Body

  1. Consider and think about the negatives — Identifying the negatives can help a person realize how they think about themselves. determining what you feel as “negative” about yourself can provide insight into how to better treat yourself.
  2. Switching these negatives into positives — Replacing a negative thought with a positive one can help a person get rid of self-sabotaging behaviors or thoughts that can negatively impact their life and self-esteem.
  3. Repeat your affirmations every day (multiple times per day) — Repeating an affirmation can help a person boost their confidence, motivation, and self-esteem. The more you say something, the more you will believe it.
  4. Get used to saying the affirmation even when you feel unworthy — Saying affirmations, even when your confidence is low or you have “failed” at a goal, can help a person remember that this temporary setback is not the end of the world. Using consistency and grounding exercises — self-worth exercises that help a person stay calm and present at the moment — can help avoid any rash decisions (i.e., eating an unhealthy snack or skipping a workout during a weight loss journey).
  5. Hear the affirmation (have a friend say it, a family member, or say it to yourself out loud) — Hearing the affirmation and positive thoughts out loud can be more effective than saying it to yourself in your mind. Say affirmations out loud when you wake up in the morning, during the middle of your day, and at night. When you say your affirmation, really believe that it is true and act as if you are saying it to a loved one.

You Need To Be Consistent And Accountable

After following the basic step of learning how to use affirmations, those who are serious about losing weight, achieving their dream body, and reaching their health goal will have to stay consistent and accountable throughout this self-love process.

For example, individuals who only diet and exercise for a few days may not see long-term changes. Making short-term alterations to what a person eats and their exercise regime will not meet the long-term goals of getting a dream body if they are not consistent with their planning.

Accountability is being responsible for decisions made and actions taken.4 Individuals who understand accountability, especially in terms of diet and weight loss, can use their learned tools — like admitting when they are wrong or “owning” their decisions — can reach their goals quicker.

For example, individuals who wish to make smarter decisions when it comes to their diet or exercise must take responsibility and ownership of the choices they make. If a person is not making smart choices for weight loss, they will not reach their end goals of achieving their dream body.

Avoid Comparing Yourself To Others

Lastly, an important aspect of positive affirmations for dream body visualization and a healthy mindset is not comparing yourself to others. Everyone is at a different stage in their life, weight loss journey, and health prospects. Therefore, staying consistent and motivated in your OWN journey is important to overall adherence.

One example of how changing your mindset and remaining positive can lead to a better overall psychological state is how using positive affirmations can increase a person’s self-worth and self-esteem. For example, telling yourself “I am strong and beautiful” can help a person remain motivated, confident, and happy while working out — even if they are not seeing the changes as fast as they wanted.

Reminding yourself of all of the positive things about yourself, such as your mental capacity, a certain physical attribute, or personality, can help you stay determined and consistent even when it feels like you are hitting a roadblock. Studies have shown that affirmations of positive values can lead to increased self-confidence and a higher sense of ego/self. These affirmations then will create positive outcomes.5

The combination of different affirmations — like self-love affirmations, appreciation affirmations, body positive affirmations, and visualization affirmations — combined with everyday consistency and accountability, and a lack of direct comparison, can help you lose weight, drop fat, and achieve your dream body.

Love Yourself, Love Your Body

Affirmations can be used to help treat mental, psychological, or physical conditions by helping utilize the power of positivity. The process of repeating positive thoughts, phrases, and mental pictures can help a person who is struggling to see the “bright side” of daily life.;

Part of the process of using affirmations is that you believe they will work. Having a positive mindset and being optimistic about the outcome can help change your subconscious thinking, helping you truly believe that these thoughts will come true.

This helpful tool is a great way to not only feel better about yourself but create realistic goals for the short and long-term. Instead of just accepting yourself the way you are, you can combine a healthy dose of self-love with accountability, consistency, and future goal setting to visualize where you want to be in life.

Those who wish to use affirmations must do so consistently and frequently to see the positive changes. To get the most out of using affirmations, users should start by repeating a phrase for at least 3-5 minutes per day, 2x per day. By saying each affirmation at least 10 times, users can begin to believe the mantras they are repeating.

After remaining consistent and accountable in the process, users can begin to actually “see” the changes they have been manifesting in their minds. Nothing feels better than being able to tick off the boxes of accomplishing your short-term goals as you make your way to achieving your dream body. When you finally reach your dream life, nothing feels better.

By combining healthy self-love — including mentally, physically, and psychologically — with a realistic sense of the goals you want to achieve, you can use affirmations to increase your confidence, boost awareness, and feel better about every facet of yourself. The law of attraction states that having positive thoughts can bring positive results into your life, which can directly spur new motivation, body positivity, and self-confidence.

Using affirmations for dream body actualization can help a person see where they want to be in life, how they can get there, and how they are perfect just the way they are.

Nathan

Nathan has been a fitness enthusiast for the past 12 years and jumps between several types of training such as bodybuilding, powerlifting, cycling, gymnastics, and backcountry hiking. Due to the varying caloric needs of numerous sports, he has cycled between all types of diets and currently eats a whole food diet.
