Low-carb meals can become monotonous, but lucky for dieters, Carb Balance Tortilla keto recipes by a real chef are now going viral, so finding tasty options for breakfast, lunch, or dinner are easier than ever.1
While keto is one of the top trending diets according to the Harvard School of Public Health, becoming burnt out on grilled chicken and vegetables is something many fall prey to.
So in an effort to help those that are tired of being fat or overweight who are following an ultra low carb diet stay on plan, an innovative chef has come up with 9 recipes using Mission Carb Balance Tortillas.2
How Do Carb Balance Tortilla Keto Have So Little Carbohydrates?
At first glance it may not seem like this particular food could fit into keto weight loss rules; Carb Balance Tortillas manage to contain very few carbohydrates that impact a low-carb diet primarily due to their high fiber content.
Fiber is, in fact, a carbohydrate, but because it cannot be digested, the listed number of fiber in a nutrition label can be subtracted from the total carbohydrate count; the total left is called net carbs.4
The base ingredient of Mission’s standard tortilla is enriched bleached wheat flour. Carb Balance tortillas utilize this same ingredient as well, but it is supplemented with modified wheat starch, wheat gluten, and wheat gluten isolate, all of which have a high amount of fiber.5,6
While its non-keto soft taco-sized counterpart totals a whopping 25 net carbs, coming in at just 4 net carbs is what makes Mission Carb Balance tortillas suitable for a keto diet. Even though there are lower carb options, keto-friendly Carb Balance tortillas can fit into many scenarios and are the perfect ingredient in many keto recipes.

Do Any Carb Balance Tortillas Contain Only 3 Net Carbs? Which Types?
Unlike the Carb Balance Flour Tortilla, the Carb Balance Whole Wheat and Carb Balance Spinach Herb both only contain 3 net carbs. What alters these Mission keto-friendly Carb Balance tortillas’ profiles is the substitution of enriched wheat flour with whole wheat flour. Whole wheat flour is unrefined and contains all portions of the grain kernel, thereby increasing the fiber-to-carbohydrate ratio.8
Do Zero or Low-Carb Tortillas Exist?
Several companies, aside from Mission, have thrown their hat in the ring and provided multiple low-carb and even zero-carb tortilla options which can be found on grocery store shelves as well as online. Whether it is tortillas, chips, or the best cereals for weight loss, those on a diet are continually searching for food options to fit into their lifestyle. Thankfully, throughout the years, the options for pre-made keto foods have skyrocketed.
