Eating Bojangles keto style is possible even though they don’t have a dedicated keto menu.1

With these 63 Bojangles secret menu options that are keto friendly, anyone looking to keep their carbs low can make an informed choice through the vetted menu options that include Bojangles low carb bowls, breakfast, and more!

Is Bojangles Keto Friendly?

Asking the question of whether Bojangles is keto approved first prompts the question of what “keto” means. A diet known as the ketogenic diet, or simply “keto” diet, has been a staple on the list of trending diets for decades.2

Following a keto diet requires a higher amount of fat, a moderate amount of protein, and a small amount of net carbohydrates, which is the total amount of carbs minus fiber because, even though fiber is a carb, it is not processed by the body.

The basis behind these restrictions is because when carbs are consumed, they are converted by the body to glucose and used as energy. If minimal carbs are consumed, the body no longer has glucose to burn and will convert fat to ketones and use that as its energy source.3

While the amount of net carbs allowed on a keto diet is up to 50, many dieters are only able to consume up to 20 carbs before they are no longer in ketosis. What this means is that, while there are technically 63 Bojangles items that are keto below, it is important to see how these choices, especially those with higher carb counts, affect weight loss while following a low carb diet.

How To Eat Keto at Bojangles

There are several ways to eat keto at Bojangles. Taking into account the low carb list below that has been gleaned from the Bojangles nutrition menu is a good way to begin narrowing down items that could work for many scenarios and meals.

It is important to recognize that even though there are many options under 50 net carbs, several of those choices included fried foods with carb laden batter, as well as biscuits and bread. Customizing menu items will allow wiggle room with carb counts and could lead diners to healthier choices.

It may be worth the effort to ask for modifications to regular menu items or items listed below such as a breakfast or lunch sandwich without the bread or biscuit as this could potentially reduce the carb count by a significant amount.

Bojangles Keto Secret Menu (Low Carb Menu at Bojangles)

The Bojangles secret keto menu includes every item on the menu under 50 net carbs. As mentioned previously, just because an item is on the hidden low carb menu at Bojangles does not necessarily mean that it is a good fit in everyone’s diet. Before choosing what to eat or dining out, it is important for each dieter to know their carbohydrate limit.

Keto Lunch & Dinner Menu at Bojangles

Choosing keto lunch and dinner options at Bojangles is possible, but, just like the above breakfast meals, finding selections that fits a predetermined carb count is imperative. The below entrees and salads are keto friendly, and many can be further altered to lower their carb count.

1. Garden Salad – 2 Net Carbs

A plain garden salad (without dressing), which includes lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and carrots, may not be extraordinary, but it is certainly low in carbs and can be a good way to get in some veggies.

  • Calories: 120
  • Fat: 9
  • Carbohydrates: 3
  • Protein: 7

2. Grilled Chicken Salad – 3 Net Carbs

If you’re still looking for something low in carbs but more filling than a simple salad, then try the tasty grilled chicken salad. This includes lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and carrots that gives more fat, calories, and protein than a simple salad while keeping the carb count very low. This salad does not include dressing, so choosing one with a low carb count is imperative to keep the total carb count low.

  • Calories: 270
  • Fat: 14
  • Carbohydrates: 4
  • Protein: 31

3. Wing – 8 Net Carbs

  • Calories: 150
  • Fat: 8
  • Carbohydrates: 8
  • Protein: 10

4. Leg – 8 Net Carbs

  • Calories: 190
  • Fat: 13
  • Carbohydrates: 8
  • Protein: 10

5. Roasted Chicken Bites – 8 Net Carbs

  • Carbohydrates: 9
  • Protein: 44

  • Calories: 470
  • Fat: 23
  • Carbohydrates: 13
  • Protein: 51

7. Thigh – 13 Net Carbs

  • Calories: 240
  • Fat: 10
  • Carbohydrates: 14
  • Protein: 21

8. Breast – 23 Net Carbs

The chicken breast is the largest piece of meat to choose from, and while it does have more meat, it also packs a hefty amount of carbs and still falls on the Bojangles keto food list since it’s less than 50 grams. Many choose the breast because it is white meat, so if this is a preference, not eating some of the fried portions can help reduce the carb count.

  • Carbohydrates: 24
  • Protein: 41

9. Chicken Supremes Salad – 27 Net Carbs

  • Carbohydrates: 28
  • Protein: 31

10. Homestyle Tenders Salad – 30 Net Carbs

  • Carbohydrates: 36

  • Protein: 16

Bojangles Keto Fixins & Sides

Drinks, Sauces, & Sweets With Little to No Carbs

Beverages

Drinking carbs and calories is something many dieters try to avoid because they would prefer to save it for something they are actually eating. Many of the beverages listed below can make a great companion to a meal without impeding on carb limitations; however, the milk, juice and sweet tea, although under 50 carbs, are best to abstain due to their significant amount of empty carbs and calories.

Is There a Low Carb Bowl at Bojangles?

Bojangles does not have a low carb bowl; in fact, the only bowl option listed on the menu includes dirty rice, pinto beans, roasted chicken bites, and cheese and amounts to 86 net carbs. Asking for this bowl without beans or without rice may reduce the carbs by around 23 or 24 carbs, but this would still not put it in the keto friendly zone.

It might be possible to create a bowl based on other menu items or asking for a reduced amount of the higher carb choices, which may result in something that could fit into a keto plan. For example, a bowl with egg, bacon, and cheese or one with rice, lettuce, and roasted chicken bites could both be well under 50 carbs.

Keto Friendly Restaurants Similar to Bojangles

Bojangles may have tasty food, but because the stars of the menu are biscuits and fried chicken, the choices for most people following keto are slim. Living a low-carb lifestyle doesn’t necessarily mean adhering strictly to a tuna diet or a pickle diet. However, it might be wise to consider a restaurant with a more expansive menu or one that caters more to those seeking keto meals.

Boston Market – While Boston Market may not have a dedicated keto menu, because they specialize in rotisserie chicken, it is easy to create a low carb platter that could fit into many keto dieter’s days.

Chick Fil A – Chick Fil A offers grilled options, such as tenders and nuggets, along with an array of salads and dressings that are all keto friendly.

Wingstop – While Wingstop may offer different fare compared to Bojangles, diners seeking a chicken fix that aligns with low-carb guidelines can explore the myriad of Wingstop keto options.

While manifesting weight loss is a good starting point, having a plan is crucial for making real progress in your weight loss journey.9 Utilizing the 63 Bojangles keto secret menu options above will guide anyone following a low carb lifestyle to make the best decisions for any meal, which ultimately leads to long term success.
